Why do we need to develop and maintain positive thoughts? Because your thought is the engine that drives your life. You have to keep them Positive to stay positive. When you don't, It's like putting a faulty engine in a very beautiful car what do you think will happen, your guess is as good as mine. The thought is so powerful that it is the seat of ideas. 1. Avoid Negative people if you can't change them: in life there are lots of people with different idea, beliefs and views about things and how things should be done. But there are particular sets of persons that tend to only see the negative side of things. When the both of you are discussing about a particular project you want to embark on they tend to give advice or raise a point that will make you see the project as one not worth the risk. They tend to frighten and discourage the individual that want to carry out great feats. These set of persons are fearful and unbelieving. Avoid those set of persons if you can't help them, because if you keep on following them it's only a matter of time you will become like them. Meanwhile you can get so Positive that you don't need to avoid anyone because your positivity is contagious. And can influence anyone around you for good.

2. Condition your mind to see Positivity: it is not enough to avoid people or friends to stay positive. You also have a part to play in making sure that you stay positive always. For example you want to embark on a project, start by asking yourself; what should I do to make sure this project is a success? Picture the project succeeding. See its successful implementation even before you begin. When you do this, your mind receives the positive energy to start and finish the project successfully.


Always condition your mind to stay positive. Even when you have a thousand reason to think Negatively. Decide to consciously focus on the positive side of life. Instead of hating someone for a bad attitude. Try to remember the good side of that person. It has a way of conditioning your mind for love and positivity.

3. Read positive Books: In life, there are several books in almost every aspect of human life or endeavor. What you need to do is to pick a book (especially the one that promotes positivity) that perhaps covers the project you want to embark on. By so doing, you will discover many ways to do the project you wanted to do and even sometimes a whole lot of opportunities you never thought were possible or ever existed begins to unfold. If you read and practice what it says it will definitely change your life. The Bible has a way of shaping the mindset of men for positivity. For example, a passage like Philippians 4:8 gave us an extensive list of what to think on to maintain a peaceful mind. You can start from there. Read and practice what it says. It can not only change your negative thoughts but it will also change your life for good. Also, if you are still very young, growing up and you want to avoid the mistakes that several people make while growing up. I suggest you read the book of proverbs, psalm and Ecclesiastes they are all contained in the Bible. They will definitely help you.

4. Keep developing you mind: After practicing the steps that have been stated above, avoid going back to those things, place or habits that made you have negative thoughts. And also avoid people that also have the type of mindsets you dropped. You may rather seek to help them than subscribe to those failure ideologies. In so doing, you will discover that you’ll begin to experience a new line of positive thought patterns, and suddenly you’ll start to grow emotionally and all-round.

Never settle for a level. Keep developing your mind until everything about you screams "Positivity".

5. Meditate on Good things: Whatever you allow into your subconscious mind will rule you. Be mindful of what you spend time to meditate on. Do not dwell long on Negative things. Focus your mind on good reports, beautiful things, love, pure things, and truth. Register these things into your subconscious through meditation. How To Have Better Control Over Habits

When we seriously start thinking about doing MBA from one of India’s top B-schools, we realize that we do not possess the skill sets required for corporate life. For example, handling procrastination, thinking less emotionally, managing relationships etc.  Therefore we realise the need to change.

In the initial stages, we are enthusiastic about the change and go for it with “vim, vigour and vitality.” Over time, this enthusiasm fizzles out and we revert to our comfort zone, and then rationalize our inaction.

What is this comfort zone?

As we develop a habit, neuron paths are created in our brain, as the habit moves from the conscious into our subconscious.  This becomes a convenient path and familiar path, a path of least resistance. The more we use it, the smoother it becomes. The psychological reasons for using this path also become ingrained.

When we change the habit, we are trying to create a new path, through a jungle. we need to cut down trees (overcome resistance from self and others) we need to smooth the path (try the new method enough numbers of times) and become familiar with it.

This is tough, and in most cases we give up, as the other, familiar path is there.

Even if we create a new path, we now have choices. The new, untested one, and the old tested one. We take the old one.

How do we handle this?

  1. Before making even the first path, decide if it is the right path. My friends in the IAS say that agreeing to the politicians the first time is tough, but it gets easier. The first time you pay the bribe, you feel bad, and then it becomes easier. A path is created.
  2. Create the new path only after you understand the benefits, so that you are motivated to take the new path. Walk on it enough number of times.
  3. Close the old path, so that even if you want to go on this path, you are unable to do so.

Take addiction as an example.

  1. Decide not to smoke.
  2. If you do start and it becomes a habit, then, since smoking is also an emotional desire, you need to find an alternate emotion, that is more powerful than the current emotion.
  3. Make sure that your friends and family are supportive and stop you from smoking, reward yourself for not smoking for a certain number of days, etc. Work in a smoke free zone.

Sometimes, teachers are trying to create new habits in you. To create the new path, they force you to do things which you do not like because they force you to get out of your comfort zone. Sometimes you ask the purpose of the change – which is a right approach – and sometimes you try to avoid doing what they recommend.

Give the Universe the time that it needs to orchestrate the timing and details of your desires. Do You Set Realistic Goals

Any type of goal setting is often considered a fundamental part of any types of personal development
 or life coaching or 12-step recovery. The idea is simply to set objectives that you then try to achieve.
At some point you evaluate your efforts and results, and make any necessary adjustments that may
| be due.

The question of realistic goals is really important. The goal must be achievable in some way, and
 at the same time must not be too easy so that it does not require any effort to stretch on the part
of the person trying to achieve it.

When looking at goals that other people are setting, it is quite easy to be reasonably objective
about what you think they can and cannot achieve. This is especially true if you know the person
well, or you know their situation or environment.

Where it becomes more difficult, is where the individual has real levels of self-doubt about
their own capabilities, and find the very notion of goal setting difficult to imagine.

It is not, usually, that the person does not want to achieve things. It is more that they struggle
with the notion of how much control they have over their own life. On the whole, people tend
to set goals that are not achievable, either because they aim too high, or they sometimes
give up too easily.

Setting realistic goals is a very hard thing to do. Failure to meet goals can re-inforce a lot of
negative thinking about someone's ability to have control of their life. This can make any type
of meeting future goals even more difficult.

One of the ways through this, is to stop setting goals that are very specific. This tends to go against
 the standard advice about goal setting. People normally say set very clear and specific goals, that
can easily be measured. Whilst this is sound advice in one sense it does make the whole issue
much more black and white than it needs to be.

What sometimes works much better, is for people to set goals that are really about a process,
rather than a specific milestone or event. The nature of process is much easier to grasp, is
actually very easy to evaluate and does not tend to be so judgemental.

When talking about being judgemental, it is important to realise that it is normally the person
 themselves who are quite judgemental about their abilities of performance. This sense of 
judgement is likely to be about their sense of self or their identity.

The nature of process allows people to move forward from a position of where they are,
at their own pace. In some ways this is a good thing, as it does not force people beyond the
 capabilities. At the same time, one of the benefits of goal setting is to stretch people to do
more than they thought they were able to.

Goal setting that revolves around a process can do this by instilling a sense of self
belief in the person, that can overcome a sense of negativity or judgement that may be there
 in the first place. Using a process based goal setting agenda involves a different
mindset to normal goal setting.

It is however, just as achievable, and in many ways can be of much more benefit to people
 who struggle with their sense of self, or low levels of self-worth or self-esteem.

A Success Formula

As a world athlete I have been asked how I did it. In a nutshell I worked at it. I am not any more talented than any one of the people I coach; I just had the ability to focus my attention for longer periods of time. This comes in real handy when training and being able to stick with a program.

I do have a curious nature and an inquiring mind which led me to wonder just how good I could get at my sport. Turns out that by using The Formula For Success in the book "Quantum Rules" and paddling... a lot... I did get good enough!

The first things I did was create a strong vision of my future self in a reality I was willing to work towards. I then set goals and worked the formula in a steadfast process. Today I share this process and MY understanding of how we use energy to reach our goals.

In Quantum physics there is the idea of many future realities one can choose. All these realities exist but the ones that get and keep our attention are the ones we bring into our focus. When we understand this we have the ability to direct our thoughts to create our reality and our future selves existing in this reality. Sounds easy enough, right? But why is it that so many of us struggle with it? For me personally, it was when I understood the idea of quantum realities being a flow of my mental, physical, emotional and spiritual energy capacities that I was able to discipline and direct my own energy.

When energy is scattered it has no flow pattern and without a flow it does not have the momentum required to create a strong current, or flow. The goal is to organize, coordinate and direct energy to create a strong current and flow pattern. It's easy to be busy and have tons of energy but it is when we use energy wisely that we get specific intended results.

If we take the example of our thoughts we can see how this can relate to our ability to bring about the reality we desire. It is the choosing of thoughts that gets our attention. We know thoughts create, but it's when we know how they create we can become masters of intention! For example; if we choose our thoughts we are organizing them.

When we can coordinate these thoughts we create focus, and, focus and attention become a clear intention. Intention is a stronger currency of energy that just focus or attention on their own. This can be somewhat related to what Wayne Dyer referred to in his book "The Power of Intention".

Now, if we can direct our intention towards a specific outcome or goal, it becomes a pattern of flow that carries the energy of our minds into our future reality. We've all experienced this energy flow at times when we say, "go with the flow" or "It was electrifying" or "I was in the moment". It's that feeling when energy lines up and we are swept away in it. It is an awesome experience of being connected with something bigger than ourselves and feeling at one in it and with it.

I have heard many athletes describe this experience as "being in the zone". I myself have been on a dragon boat where all bodies are moving together in complete synchronicity making the boat feel like it's gliding on top of the water. These moments feel out of body as our minds direct our movements with precision and accuracy making it almost effortless. It's magical, addictive and we all strive for it.

So how do we get it and how do we keep it? We work at it. Another component in The Formula For Success is hard work. It takes effort, practice and continued persistence to train the thoughts of the mind to move in this organized and coordinated path towards our goals. It is not rocket science but understanding the science of energy flow patterns may give you the key to managing your mindset and create the reality of your future self!

In closing, I hope I didn't offend the scientists of quantum physics and forgive me I did not relay these ideas accurately. It is my hope to offer some clarity for us regular folks who share the love of science and continue to do our best to use it in our mundane existence.

Make This Year Your Year

Certain times of the year can prompt us to review our lives. It may be a new year, an anniversary, a significant birthday that motivates us to pause awhile and reflect on where we are, on what we've done with our lives and what we'd like to do next. For some this could be a pleasurable few moments of reflection. We've achieved much of what we aimed for, have good relationships, lovely children, a successful career or business, good quality of life and so we smile, feeling proud, content, looking forward to the year ahead with enthusiasm.

But for others this reflection can result in an, 'is this it?' response, followed by perhaps feeling stuck in a rut, trapped by circumstances and unsure what next steps might be possible. A variety of constraints and limitations, fear of rocking the boat and the potential impact of changes may deter further thought. And yet so many people hit their forties, fifties or even sixties and feel they've missed out. Rather than be that person why not use the new year as a natural start to a new phase of life and a new you?

The routine of daily life often means we face many pressing demands. There's no time for self-reflection when we have to think about work, finances, children and family as well as maybe spiritual concerns. Postponing changes for several years may seem to be the only course of action, but taking time to thoroughly consider our situation may open our thinking to other possibilities, rather than simply becoming resigned to saying, 'I'll wait until the business is bigger, the children are older or there's someone to pass it on to'.

Certain responsibilities cannot change, but there might be some capacity for small adjustments which bring positive benefits into your life. Change doesn't automatically require major upheaval. Simply revising your perspective may enable you to return to your everyday life with a calmer, healthier attitude, feeling settled and in a better place. Deciding that a new year is time for a new you can motivate you to positively adjust your viewpoint and become more flexible and tolerant. Interestingly, those minor changes often make life more pleasant for everyone else too.

Don't forget that our priorities often evolve over time. Those earlier ones may now have morphed into caring for older relatives, our children have now grown up and don't need us in the same way. We may have an established reputation and be comfortable financially, have a settled relationship or be free of a difficult partner.

Let's look at some steps which support this year being your year:

- Commit to making regular time for things that bring meaning and satisfaction into your life. Then you're able to start the new year well, with good habits that help you manage stress and pressure. Take regular breaks, wind down, eat well and exercise frequently. If necessary, give yourself time to grieve, recover from a breakup, heal after a change in circumstances or have some space after a hectic time or period of illness before you reflect on what you want to happen next.

- Learn to delegate. Appraisals can help you assess ways to develop staff and maximise their skills and talents. - Outsource tasks that take too much of your time or are outside your area of expertise. Accounts, social media, PR or domestic chores like cleaning or gardening may be better done by someone else, allowing you to invest your time more productively.

- Enhance your relationships. Is it time to add interest to your work by learning new skills or even forming relationships with complementary businesses and opening up new doors, so extending your reach? Nurture your relationships, both professional and personal. Commit to regular quality time with the significant people in your life and be part of each other's support systems.

- Are your friendships working well for you? Do you spend your free time with the 'right' people who inspire you? Do they support you and your dreams or are they in your life simply by default? - Do your spiritual and core values need attention? Whilst you may not be able to radically alter your life there may be scope to invest in your core values and spiritual wellbeing. Helping others, volunteering and charity work can bring real satisfaction to your life.

What is the "new normal" like for you now, especially as related to your workday? Do you believe you will ever go back to business as usual, or work in the same manner you did, now that you have learned how to adapt and work in a different manner? Are you feeling that you are able to cope with conditions related to your job, or is a matter of just surviving each day of your work week?

Life for many has become a matter of adjusting and adapting, and doing this at a rapid pace, sometimes with the proper tools and resources, and often on the fly. The initial sense of confusion and uncertainty is now growing into panic and increased agitation for many. Those who are employed are attempting to work at home, in spaces they never imagined they would be working, and feeling somewhat off balance.

Right now, the demands and responsibilities have shifted for many people in a significant manner, some for the better and for others, it has become much more challenging. The thought of turning on a computer now may not be that exciting, and in fact, there may be a sense of foreboding, as many try to navigate working in a virtual environment for the first time. It may also be challenging to translate many jobs to a remote position, and this will compound the amount of anxiety experienced. For those who did not have a strong working relationship with their colleagues or managers to begin with, the separation or distance now can strain these relationships even further.

I realize there has been much written about the topic of stress already, and it may seem as if there is nothing more to write about it, yet I would like to once again consider how to master it from an internalized perspective. Most people are thinking about their jobs, responsibilities, and how to cope. I want to have you also consider what is going on in your thoughts as well, and how you are processing the situation and events around you. Whether you realize it or not, you are internalizing the events you are experiencing and the related emotions along with these events, and if you are not careful, you can quickly build up negative emotions. This is what leads to stress, anxiety, depression, and worse.

It doesn't matter what type of job you have; everyone has an ability to experience pent up negative emotions as a result of what they are experiencing, just by trying to adapt to a new environment. This can be the culmination of small events, such as failing to access needed online files, building up to computer issues, resulting in built-up frustration. If you finally recognize you are frustrated, it may be at a point you are already feeling completely overwhelmed and have not taken care of your well-being. This is what I want to help you prevent, and I have some strategies you can implement to take care of your internal thought process.

The Internal State of Mind

Everything going on around you can potentially cause an emotional reaction within you, depending upon your connection with it. Right you are experiencing heightened emotions because of the events of our current crisis. You are more likely to become emotionally engaged the longer you watch or read the news and the headlines. You will also experience many emotions within as you attempt to adjust to new or adapted working conditions.

If you have never worked as a remote employee, or an employee who must now work within specified health conditions, you may react emotionally. These emotional reactions may not be noticeable at first, but if you are not happy with the changes, the negativity will build up slowly over time, until the residual effect culminates in a feeling of stress or anxiety. By the time you feel or experience any of these indicators, you may need significant self-work to recover and re-balance yourself.

Perceptual Influences

There is something else to consider and it is how you perceive the circumstances around you. During a time of crisis there is information and misinformation being shared. In the search for updates, you may find yourself perceiving events as they actually are or as you believe they are. There is a difference and it is based upon your worldview or mental model. What happens is that your emotions begin to influence what you see and hear, along with what you believe, creating a perceptual filter. This is also true for your job and the responsibilities which are associated with it. In your position you may perceive it to be challenging, or you may accept it is easy to adapt to before and now.

Strategies to Master the Stress of Every Day Life

Stress and anxiety, which are indicators of a problem, do not appear all at once. Both are a result of ongoing negative feelings which have been internalized for several days and/or weeks. It may gradually manifest in your job, perhaps in the tone of emails or other communication. Or it may result in feelings of being afraid, experiencing fear, or a general sense of hopelessness about your situation. If you do not manage what you are experiencing, not only can it become more challenging to resolve, it can eventually appear in your performance. You can use the following strategies to help you master what you are feeling and control the potential for stress.

Strategy #1: Am I experiencing a negative reaction?

As you are going about your regular work day, look for anything which produces a negative trigger. Pay attention to it. This is an emotion you are feeling right now. You do not have to analyze it, rather you just need to acknowledge you are experiencing it. This may occur during a busy work day, so for the time being, just make a note of the time and a general description of the triggering event.

Strategy #2: Do I need to examine why I experienced a negative reaction?

At the end of the day, take a look at the list of your events. Then examine in more detail what caused the trigger and led you to experience a negative reaction. To what degree did you react? How strongly did you feel negative emotions? You may find it helpful to write this out, depending upon the complexity of the triggering event. The purpose is to take away the negativity of the situation, so you are better able to understand it and give yourself a sense of relief as you take action.

Strategy #3: What do I have within my power to control now?

One of the challenges associated with built-up negative emotions is the feeling of hopelessness. It is possible to begin to feel so bad about the culmination of occurrences, you believe nothing is going to get better or change. Or worse, you may feel as if no one is going to help you. But what you always maintain control of are your thoughts. You can decide how to respond to each and every situation which arises, even if you are challenged at times. What you can do is to learn to stop before reacting, and use logic before emotions to evaluate situations. This gives you the power of control, acting in a controlled manner.

Strategy #4: How can I maintain a positive attitude?

If you are going to become proactive and master every day conditions which can lead to stress, you can also change your attitude as part of this approach. You can decide to face each day as it presents itself, good, not so good, or otherwise, and be able to manage it effectively. Why? Because whatever the day brings, you will find a way to be successful. If you cannot address something, you will ask for assistance. If you need a break, you will take it. But you are stronger than you can imagine, you have an ability to persevere, and you will rely upon your internal GPS to guide you through any time which requires you to be adaptable, flexible, and proactive.

Strategy #5: How can I make my present situation better?

Now that you have examined your triggering events, and your disposition, you can decide what steps are needed next to make your working conditions or job more manageable. As an example, do you need to have a conversation with your supervisor about how to adapt to the new normal? Or should you speak with your colleagues and ask for tips and recommendations related to the position? The purpose is to ask for assistance and relieve any potential for negative feelings which you have become accustomed to feeling. You may also need to consider how your home working environment needs to change or become better adapted to your required job responsibilities.

How You Feel Becomes Who You Are

Can you remember your jobs from a perspective of the time when you enjoyed it the most? Perhaps it was the first day you were hired and you loved arriving at work, eager to complete your job duties. But now the job responsibilities have changed to a new normal. A job you loved, or possibly grew to loathe, has now produced feelings of frustration, exasperation, and worse, because you are attempting to adapt to different working conditions. If you are experiencing negative emotions, and these feelings persist, it can decrease your ability to perform your very best. When you no longer feel a sense of peace or stability about your job, it can show up in your disposition and work product.

What you can do is control what you think about your situation, including your job and your adapted working conditions. If you look at this time as an opportunity to learn more about yourself, and discover more about your ability to grow, you will change how you view your job responsibilities. Without a doubt this is an extraordinary time in our lives, and yet it is time for you to re-engage with yourself and discover the best of your abilities. You do not need to deny or feel bad about the natural reactions you experience. But what you can do is to acknowledge your feelings and then be alert to address them, to prevent continued distress. You have incredible talent within you, the sum of your career and what you have learned. Once you adapt and view your job and yourself anew, you can once again return to enjoying your every day.

Have you ever been in a situation where you carry on with your life, perhaps you have a job, you get up every morning go to work, come back to your family and carry this on for a year or two and all of a sudden one day on a lonely day or a quite day you feel empty and ask yourself "Why, What and Who?" Why do you do the things you do? What do you live for? Who are you? and what do you really what to accomplish. Such a feeling of emptiness and questioning yourself is usually a self-reflection point in your life. Life can get routinal and at times we live on autopilot every day and forget the purpose regarding our lives. This in a long term or even short term can leave us feeling empty without hope.

I would like to remind you to be purposeful about the intent of your life. Remember why you are where you are and you do what you do. Why you have your spouse as a life partner, remember the reasons you had that made you feel that they are suitable to live life with you, why you feel important about your children and what you would like them to accomplish in life and what you would like to teach them. The most important person is you, what is your purpose, how would you like to be remembered in this life, what would you like to contribute. Having this form of self-reflection can help you live life with a sense of purpose and more intentfully. This will help you live happier and fulfilled. When you feel happier and fulfilled you are more likely to pursue and achieve your life goals.

Get up each day remembering why you do the things you do. Take time to meditate on your life, this will give you energy and the enthusiasm to pursue your dreams. Without remembering "why" you risk living a life that at times can feel purposeless. Without purpose, as human beings we are doomed to give up on everything and feel unhappier. Find your why, reach your goals and live a fulfilling life.The best time to start is not an hour later or tomorrow, start now.

Remember to remain inspired, to move all obstacles standing in your way of success and do not dare give up on yourself or your dreams.

When you are not able to control your anger, it controls you. It can get destructive both for you and for others. A little bit of self-awareness and deliberate attention will go a long way. Because as you give in to anger, you are giving away your true strength.

 

In this article, I will be sharing 10 tips on managing anger – techniques on how to control your temper and cultivate peaceful responses to challenges and difficulties, be it people or situations in your everyday life — 10 ways on how to not easily give in to the emotion of anger and to take hold of your inner balance more consciously, or in other words, be “anger-proof”.

 

1. Have a happiness that is self-fueled.

When you come to a decision with yourself that you are taking responsiblity for your own happiness (that is, you are deliberately and consciously putting your attention, focus and time on the things that are serving your emotions well), you will be catching yourself early whenever you are heading in the opposite direction of happiness, which in this case towards anger. The feeling of anger will now be a choice for you to make, instead of an uncontrolled reaction or habit that you unconsciously just fall into by default. You will already know that you can choose to go into anger or not, instead of blaming the people or circumstances for the way you feel. With the right focus, you know you can get yourself back to a happy, aligned state, from where you are. You will not let the anger well up inside of you because how you feel is already within your control.

 

Before getting angry, ask yourself, am I giving up the control for my own happiness?

 

2. Don’t give in to the endless internal monologue.

A lot of times, when we are faced with a disturbing situation, our mind gets in an endless loop of conclusions and judgments, which ends up clouding our clarity to make a conscious response. Start making an intention to observe your mind as it starts to engage in unnecessary chatter. Instead of reacting, try observing. Pause for a while and take a deep breath as you center yourself. By doing this, you will become the watcher of your mind, instead of becoming a victim of your own angry thoughts. You won’t be paying too much attention to that voice in the head talking, and the probability to give in to anger will become lesser as a result.

 

Before getting angry, ask yourself, am I just making stuff up in my head right now?



3. Do not take things personally.

When you are not attaching yourself personally to all the happenings around you, you will have a much lighter approach to circumstances, and things won’t bother you that easily. Whenever you are seeing other people’s behavior as a reflection of the energy that is going on inside of them, without any connection to what you’re doing, you won’t be taking things personally and be feeling any anger or hurt for how a person behaved toward you. Whatever their reaction or behavior is, is essentially a result of their own beliefs, perspectives and habits of thinking, and is totally unrelated to who you are. Nothing will feel like a personal attack, and as a result, you will easily be detaching yourself out of the situation, and feel a sense of understanding or compassion for how a person turned out. What they chose to do has got nothing to do with you, and you will choose to disengage in any anger or any kind of lower energy.

 

Before getting angry, ask yourself, is there something in here that I’m just taking personally?



4. Do not make too much of small things.

Becoming anger-proof requires the committment to not be sweating the small stuff, or in other words, to be maintaining a bigger picture of life at all times. In times when you are inclined to get angry, you can ask yourself, will this thing really matter months or years from now? Will I allow this thing or person to take away minutes or hours of happiness from me, something that is comparatively miniscule in the bigger scheme of things? If your answer is no, then you now have moved a whole lot of energy in the right direction and already decided that going the anger route won’t be worth it.

 

Before getting angry, ask yourself, am I looking at the big picture here?



5. Give respect for differences.

People would normally have different upbringings, environments and backgrounds in life which would make for a variety of opinions and attitudes about ways of living and interacting with the world. And being able to recognize and allow for these differences and contrasting personalities will ease up a lot of tension when confronted with someone or something that is different from what you’ve been used to. Whenever you have the mindset of honoring the individualities of every single person you meet, you will not feel the need to be angry and will become more accepting of these differences.

 

Before getting angry, ask yourself, am I just using our differences as an excuse to feel the anger?



6. Release the need to be right.

Most angry feelings stem from the need to be right and to prove another person or circumstance wrong. And releasing this need to insist yourself or your point of view will result in a greater relief on your part as you won’t be attached to winning an argument and being the right one. Keep in mind that the things happening around us are all subjective. It can be right or wrong depending on who’s looking or interpreting. You can release the need to prove your side when you understand that it will be fruitless to argue, and feeling good is more important to you. You will walk away peacefully, knowing that nothing valuable will come out from going deeper into something you do not want.

 

Before getting angry, ask yourself, am I just wanting to prove myself or my opnion right?



7. Be unattached to any specific outcome.

Whenever you are accepting and flowing with life as it presents itself in every moment, instead of resisting what is already in front of you and insisting that it shouldn’t be the way that it is, you will naturally not feel anger or disappointment with whatever is happening. Becoming unattached to how things should specifically play out will eliminate a great deal of unnecessary demanding or pushing against something that is beyond your control. Remember that nothing is broken and nothing happens by accident. Everything is a perfect match. There is no need to feel angry about an outcome because it is the perfect result of the co-creation of everyone involved. You can trust that things are always working out in the way that it should for the highest good of all.

 

Before getting angry, ask yourself, am I just making an enemy of the present moment?



8. Practice forgiveness.

Forgiving often, instead of storing anger or hurt within you, will increase the likelihood of having immunity to feeling too much anger again. When you do not practice that kind of vibration inside you, there wouldn’t be any trapped energies of anger that can be easily triggered by outside circumstances. When you are keeping your heart open, practicing forgiveness, and releasing any wounds of the past that may be trapped inside, the tendency to succumb to the feeling of anger will become less and less. Through forgiveness, you are also treating the situation as an opportunity for your soul advancement, and seeing the gift that the situation or person is providing for you.

 

Before getting angry, ask yourself, can I choose to forgive instead of feel angry?



9. Practice self-love.

When you are putting self-love as your priority in every interaction, you will become more gentle towards yourself as well as to others. You will naturally be connected to your core values of peace, harmony, joy and love, and will naturally move toward harmonious responses. You will also be immune to other people’s comments, judgment or criticism of any kind, and the need to seek validation or approval from them will be gone. What will most matter to you will be taking care of your own vibration, and not letting the feeling of anger bring your vibration down.

 

Before getting angry, ask yourself, am I choosing self love with this response?



10. Be fully present.

As you ground yourself in the present moment by taking full conscious breaths before responding to any situation, you will create a space between unconscious reacting and conscious responding. That space of presence will set your mind clearer as to the what the beneficial action should be. As you maintain your presence, you will become more observant of the emotional energy you are allowing within your own body.

 

Before getting angry, ask yourself, am I grounded in the present moment?
